Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 20 August 2026
Our aim
Buy Sites Direct should be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, use magnification, or need reduced motion. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We are not claiming a formal audit or certification. This page describes what we have actually done and where we know there is more work to do.
What has been done
- Pages are built from semantic HTML with a single main heading and headings in a sensible order.
- Navigation regions are labelled so screen reader users can tell the category, buyer, and seller link groups apart.
- The whole site can be operated with a keyboard, and interactive elements show a visible focus outline.
- Form fields have associated labels, and validation errors are given in text rather than colour alone.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Text and background colours are chosen to meet the AA contrast ratio in both the light and dark themes.
- The dark theme is a real theme, not a filter, so it stays readable at high zoom.
- Images carry alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Pages reflow without horizontal scrolling down to a narrow mobile viewport and at 200 percent zoom.
- Legal and reference pages such as this one are kept plain: a single readable column, no animation, no moving background.
Known limitations
Being honest about the gaps is more useful than claiming there are none.
- Marketing pages use decorative animation, including drifting background shapes and elements that fade in on scroll. We are working through these to make sure every one of them respects the reduced motion setting in your operating system.
- Listing content is written by sellers. We cannot control the heading structure, reading level, or clarity of text that sellers supply.
- Some third party content, such as embedded analytics, is outside our control.
Reporting a barrier
If any part of this site is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Reports from real users are the fastest way for us to find and fix problems. Get in touch through the FAQ page and include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within five working days and will tell you what we can fix and when.
If something blocks you from contacting a seller, say so in your report and we will help you get the message through.
How we review this
Accessibility is checked as part of our regular review of the site, using a combination of automated testing, keyboard-only navigation, and manual inspection of new pages. This statement is reviewed periodically and updated when the site changes or when we fix something listed above. It was last reviewed on 20 August 2026.
